Deadlock updates from the official Steam news. Translations are automatic — hero and item names stay as in the game.
As Halloween draws near, the residents of The Cursed Apple have put out some decorations to celebrate their favorite holiday. The Hideout gains a spooky new look, our heroes don masks, and NYC is now littered with pumpkins and curious Halloween Cauldrons that grant willing trick-or-treaters delicious candy.
As you walk down the streets of Manhattan during a match, you'll come across bubbling cauldrons boasting a tempting display of treats. With a Heavy Melee, break the cauldron to pick up a piece of Candy and stash it in your pocket for later. When you're feeling a bit snacky, you can consume the candy to grant yourself a boost of energy with the temporary Sugar Rush buff. - Who said candy is bad for you?
The Halloween festivities are available in-game now through November 2nd, 2026. Happy Haunting!

General:
Items:
Heroes:
Apollo: Riposte - Fixed the counterattack dash sometimes missing its target or launching Apollo away when the target moves, rounds a corner, or is displaced
Apollo: Flawless Advance - Being stunned or put to sleep during the ability now refunds that stab and keeps your remaining recasts instead of putting it on cooldown
Baba: Threadsap - When a victim cleanses the Threadsap debuff, the matching spirit Baba gained is also removed
Deadman Danny: Chimera Mk1 - Fixed bug causing it to not deal damage when held through a Close The Deal
Deadman Danny: Chimera Mk1 - Items and abilities that pull to the ground now work more reliably against Danny
Deadman Danny: Chimera Mk1 - Slows now reduce the jetpack's in-air impulse more effectively, and even more if movement abilities are silenced
Grey Talon: Charged Shot - T3 now also lets the shot bounce once off a wall (can't hit a target more than once)
Grey Talon: Guided Owl - Now launches in the exact direction you're aiming, including steep downward angles (previously always launched at least 45° upward)
Haze: Smoke Bomb - Fixed T3 dispelling debuffs that can't be dispelled (like the Specter Crash from Nurse's Wretched Vapors)
Lash: Death Slam - Targeting indicator changed from a cone to a cylinder to more accurately match the ability's range (visual change only)
Mirage: Traveler - Now gets interrupted if you are Stunned/Immobilized/Slept or have slowing hex on you
Mirage: Traveler - The minimap now moves to the center of the screen and is enlarged while targeting
Mirage: Traveler - Added a targeting reticle under your cursor on the minimap that your allies can see, so they can tell where you're thinking of going before you click
Mirage: Traveler - Your destination is now marked on your and your allies' minimaps until you arrive, and stays there briefly after landing
Nurse Harrow: Leech Therapy - Fed leeches duration on the ground changed from a fixed 180s to 120s + 3s/min
Nurse Harrow: Lurking Terrors - Enemies no longer build fear when Nurse is more than 50 degrees above or below their view
Nurse Harrow: Lurking Terrors - T3 changed from "Immune to damage while channeling" to "Takes 50% Reduced Damage while channeling"

Rat King: Scrap Grenade - Meleeing the grenade now gives it at least 0.4s before it explodes (if less than 0.4s was left on its fuse, the fuse is extended to 0.4s)
Rat King: Rule, Ratannia! - Now goes on cooldown when stunned/slept before placing it. In that case, the flag is placed in that position but without any of the initial impact effects (damage/knockup)
Solomon: Polished slide animations, added new ability and item aim poses, and adjusted run-to-stop timing
Solomon: Setup Bishop - T3 increased from -2.5% to -5% Spirit Resist per stack (max reduction unchanged)

Solomon: Develop Queen - Base ability now has the checkmate behavior for heroes under 100 Health (scales +5/boon)
Solomon: Move Piece - Improved placement: pieces no longer fall through geometry or end up under the map, land closer to where you aim, and can now be placed closer to walls and in hallways
Violet: Still Life - Line of sight is now required when the channel ends, even during the grace period
Violet: Still Life - Sketches now grant +2% healing amp from Nurse Harrow, Kelvin, Ivy, Dynamo, Paige, and Rem instead
Violet: Still Life - Sketches changed to give Spirit Power instead of Weapon Damage for Grey Talon, Infernus and Mina
Violet: Still Life - T1 health regen is now only granted while drawing (still refreshes for 4s on pickup)
Violet: Abstract Landscape - Cooldown between times you can be affected by it increased from 0.5s to 0.75s
Viscous: Goo Ball - Fixed being able to heavy melee or activate Ethereal Shift during the cast delay

It's hard to know if that chill in the air is from the approaching fall breeze, or from the withering glare of Nurse Harrow, who now joins us on the streets of Manhattan. To some, her practices may seem unorthodox, her patients at the Marble Hill Possession Ward cannot say that the results aren't effective. With Leech Therapy, she throws a jar full of leeches that attach to oncoming enemies, draining their health and energy, before crawling back to deliver their haul. Cracking open one of her vials, she releases her Wretched Vapors, possessing her allies with a powerful boost of effectiveness - though subjects should be warned of the side effects when the vapors wear off. To efficiently keep her teammates fighting their best, she loads her syringe full of Healing Needles to inject medicine directly into their veins. And when her patience runs out, she opens her bag to release all the Lurking Terrors captured inside, making her adversaries run for cover. - "Trust me, I know best."
With Nurse Harrow joining us today, that marks the end of our City Never Sleeps releases. We want to thank everyone for participating in voting once again, and hope you've been enjoying all the new delights that NYC has to offer.
City Never Sleeps Voting Stats:
Brush in hand, Violet approaches the ritual with the same precision she does her art, wielding Living Ink that both empowers her bullets, and draws mere inspiration into reality. When entering Flow State, her ink glides easily, weaving towards danger to deal damage, or away from it to make a quick getaway. By creating a Still Life Violet can truly capture her enemies' likeness to stunning results. And with Abstract Landscape she surrounds herself and those nearby with her biggest and most ambitious piece yet, leaving onlookers completely speechless. - "I worked too hard to get here, I can't stop now."
Violet is available in-game now! Which means that our final hero - Nurse Harrow - will be joining us Next Tuesday October 20th at 2pm PDT. We want to thank everyone for participating in voting once again, and we'll see you next week for the culmination of our City Never Sleeps update. Have a good weekend!
Open source →Today, Fairfax Industries is proud to introduce their most valuable salesman: Deadman Danny. Wielding a rocket launcher and flying high above the streets of New York (courtesy of the Chimera Mk1 - the latest and greatest in self-adhered aviation technology), Danny rains his Strix Salvo missiles down upon foes, marking them for future attacks. Jettison Fuel is a handy trick that both expels heat from the Chimera System, while also dousing nearby enemies in the warm embrace of a fiery inferno. Yet his most impressive tactic has always been his ability to Close the Deal, wowing prospective customers with an explosive hands-on demonstration of all that Fairfax has to offer. - "At Fairfax Industries we say "All's Fair", but that's not true! Because with the Fairfax Chimera Mark 1, you have the advantage."
Take flight with Deadman Danny, available in-game now! With only two hero releases remaining, keep your votes coming to help determine who will be joining us on Friday October 16th at 2pm PDT.
Open source →Solomon remains calm and collected when facing a new challenger, so when the Patrons come calling, he approaches the city as if it's one giant chessboard. With Setup Bishop he advances, planting his loyal damage dealers ahead of him and sliding them across the streets with ease. Kingside Knight comes into play when it's time for defense, granting protection to allies and making tactical retreats when needed. Rook Battery charges forward with great force, stalling enemies in their tracks. And with his final move, Develop Queen, he locks down his enemies in an ultimate checkmate. - "There's a lot you can learn from losing to a master."
Solomon is available in-game now (just in time for National Chess Day)! We're halfway through our latest set of heroes, keep your votes coming to help determine who will be joining us next Tuesday at 2pm PDT. Have a great weekend!
Open source →It was a close contest, but today we find New York's notorious pigeon lady leaving her favorite perch in Central Park and joining the fight on the city streets.
Tourists in the park might not think much of ol' Baba sitting on her bench - sipping tea and talking to her birds - but the locals have always suspected that something more brews below the surface. In the heat of battle, Baba throws out her Threadsap, a chaotic spool of yarn that steals the very spirit of her enemies, granting her greater power. While her legs might not be what they used to, her trusty bench comes to life with a creak of metal, allowing her to run, jump, and kick with impressive vigor. Parkgoers know it's best to stay on Baba's good side, as at tea time you might find yourself splashed with one of Baba's Brews (some of them much sweeter than others), and when tea time is over - The Birds come out to play... "They think they know magic? Oh I'll show 'em some magic."
Baba and her pigeons are available now! We'll see you back here on Friday at 2pm PDT to introduce our next hero.
Additionally, the end date for our first Ranked season has been pushed back to Thursday November 5th, 2026 at 2pm PDT, with the next season starting immediately after.
